Hey there! My name is Kacy and I’m the creator of Console Q for tvOS. I’m proud to announce that Console Q now supports TRMNL for Developer Edition accounts.
What is Console Q?
Console Q is a virtual dashboard app that turns any TV in your home connected into a beautiful ambient display. Much like TRMNL, Console Q supports multiple layouts.
While TRMNL supports multiple “playlists”, Console Q currently only supports a single “playlist” with 4 pages. Each of those pages can contain a different layout, and each layout can contain anywhere from 1 to 4 widgets.
Adding Console Q to your TV
Adding your TRMNL to Console Q is simple. Visit your Apple TV's App Store and search for Console Q. Install the app, then open it up to begin setup.
While you can add the TRMNL widget to any layout, it works best when configured in the Single layout. Add this layout by swiping up to reveal the menu bar, selecting the layouts button and selecting New Layout. From there, select Single and the new Single widget will be added to your queue.
Menu > Layout > New Layout > Single
From here you can press the Play button on your remote to advance the playhead to the Single layout. With the widget selected, long-press using the select button on your remote (the widget should shrink slightly to denote that you’re selecting it).
Next, select the Change Widget option from the menu. Scroll down and then look for the TRMNL widget.
Select the TRMNL widget
Once you’ve switched to the TRMNL widget, you should see the following:

Long-press on the TRMNL widget to bring up the menu. Select “Settings.”

On the Settings screen, using your mobile device, scan the QR Code to be taken to the TRMNL dashboard login page. Once logged in, you can retrieve your API.
Copy/paste a TRMNL device's API Key
If you have an Apple device it may turn into the TV Remote natively, making it easy to paste directly from your clipboard to your television's input field.
Coming soon - additional device models (e.g. 50+ inch televisions) with larger bit depths and dimensions, making this Apple TV integration a natively supported BYOD solution.
