Introducing TRMNL X
on June 25, 2024 we launched on Kickstarter. our campaign ended 30 days later, we took a short break, then the hardware team began designing "version 2."
today we're revealing that project, officially known as TRMNL X. it's 10 inches diagonal, can do whatever you want, and 2RMNL was too obvious.
we've spoken 1:1 with thousands of you who volunteered candid feedback about our OG model, which we'll continue to improve, manufacture, and sell. in fact we ordered sample boards last week.
but i'm here today to share that TRMNL X addresses all of your best ideas. from "bigger faster higher def" to "has more controls" and 5ghz compatibility, to smaller details like removing our logo or allowing side profile charging. TRMNL X abides.
and that's enough shop talk. this brief post, this new product, is our way of saying thanks for an amazing first year in the space. we don't pretend to be e-ink experts, we just hope our new kid on the block energy is helpful.
i could mention upcoming projects like an open source font, MCP-driven plugin builder, 100s more supported devices, DIY partnerships... but shipping speaks louder than words. let's get TRMNL X in your home, first.
to staying focused,
Ryan and the TRMNL team
